ServiceNow ITOM- Service Mapping

About this role

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow ITOM Developer / Consultant with strong expertise in Service Mapping. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain automated discovery and service maps that provide real-time visibility into IT infrastructure and service dependencies within the ServiceNow platform. Key Responsibilities: Implement and configure ServiceNow ITOM modules, focusing on Discovery and Service Mapping. Develop and maintain service maps to represent business-critical applications and their dependencies. Integrate Service Mapping with other ITOM modules such as Event Management, Discovery, CMDB, and Cloud Management. Perform Discovery troubleshooting and optimize patterns, probes, and sensors for accurate data collection. Work with application and infrastructure teams to identify key components for end-to-end service visibility. Maintain and enhance CMDB data quality and ensure alignment with CSDM (Common Service Data Model). Design and implement custom patterns and scripts for complex mapping use cases. Collaborate with ServiceNow architects and administrators for platform optimization and upgrades. Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and user training as needed. Required Skills: 5–10+ years of overall ServiceNow experience with at least 3+ years in ITOM – Service Mapping. Strong hands-on experience with Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB, Event Management, and MID Server configuration. Proficient in creating and modifying Discovery Patterns, Probes, Sensors, and Application Services. Good understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, SSH, WMI, HTTP, etc.) and infrastructure components (servers, databases, middleware, load balancers, etc.). Familiarity with CSDM framework and best practices for CMDB design. Experience with JavaScript, Glide APIs, and ServiceNow scripting. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Experience working in Agile / DevOps environments. Good to Have: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM certification. Knowledge of Cloud Discovery (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Kubernetes mapping. Experience integrating third-party monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.). Understanding of Service Graph Connectors and Flow Designer. Exposure to ITSM, CMDB Health Dashboards, and Discovery Automation.
